2nd annual Marathon starts in Wailea and takes you through South Kihei, then along Maui’s scenic coast to Kamehameha Iki Park in Lahaina; 26.2 miles of beautiful oceanfront and mountain vistas. In addition, a Marathon Walk, Half Marathon, Maui 15K and Maui 5K runs are also available. Award ceremony, entertainment and refreshments provided after the race. The Marathon course is certified and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The race benefits non-profit organizations volunteering at various spots along the race route.

Based on the Hawaiian literary saga of Pelehonuamea, goddess of the volcano, and her younger sister, Hiiakaikapoliopele, “Holo Mai Pele”, which premiered at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in 1995, will once again grace the Maui Arts & Cultural Center stage.  The first opera-length hula drama to incorporate hula, chant, drama and storytelling “Holo Mai Pele” is a pivotal work that changed the way hula was presented on stage.
