A Half Marathon, 5K Run, 5K Competition Pod, 5K Walk for the Whales, and a 2K Keiki Fun Run, complement the days activities along scenic South Maui. One of Hawaii’s most popular recording artists, Kealii is the award-winning kumu hula of Halau Kealaokamaile. His music, chant and hula represent the best of Hawaii‘s traditional and contemporary poetry and dance today. He has won 19 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, and his consistent place at the top of world music charts garners international attention. Most recently, his halau brought home awards from their first appearance at the Merrie Monarch Festival. Annual parade kicks off all day activities. 30th annual celebration honors humpback whales that visit Maui each winter: parade, live entertainment, craft fair, children’s carnival, games, eco-alley, silent auction, food and displays. Free admission, 9am – 6pm.
