A select group of Maui-based artists created unique works based on their personal interpretation of what the spiritual, cultural or social "essence" of Maui is to them. Mediums include oil paintings, photography, ceramics, video and mixed media. Open Tuesday - Saturday, 11 am - 5pm, free admission.

A Half Marathon, 5K Run, 5K Competition Pod, 5K Walk for the Whales, and a 2K Keiki Fun Run, complement the days activities along scenic South Maui. 13th     Kealii Reichel in “Kukahi”

One of Hawaii’s most popular recording artists, Kealii is the award-winning kumu hula of Halau Kealaokamaile. His music, chant and hula represent the best of Hawaii‘s traditional and contemporary poetry and dance today. He has won 19 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, and his consistent place at the top of world music charts garners international attention. Most recently, his halau brought home awards from their first appearance at the Merrie Monarch Festival. Maui's 5th annual plein air painting event will unite some of the best Island painters with prominent mainland painters for a week of arts. The public can watch 26 artists working on location outdoors and attend Friday's unveiling of 100 original paintings. This event is sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

20th     Maui’s Parade Of Whales & Whale Day Celebration

Annual parade kicks off all day activities. 30th annual celebration honors humpback whales that visit Maui each winter: parade, live entertainment, craft fair, children’s carnival, games, eco-alley, silent auction, food and displays. Free admission, 9am – 6pm.
