2009 Festivals of Aloha, Hana Maui

Hana Town celebrates with week long activities starting with a parade on Oct 17th. Other daily activities include a Fishing Tournament, Kids Play Day, Teen Music and Dancing, Keiki Muumuu and Aloha Shirt Contest, and Movie in the Park. On October 22nd, enjoy "Hawaiiana Night" with the presentation of the Royal Court, food and entertainment. St Damien in Maui, Molokai and Lanai

October 24th-31st
Following an ancient Christian practice a part of St. Damien, in this case a bone from his foot was given to the Catholics of Hawaii for custody and veneration.
Pope Benedict VI presented the relic to Bishop Larry Silva during the Belgian missionary’s canonization on Oct.11 in Rome. From there it will cross the Atlantic, and pause in a few cities in North America. Please go to www.fatherdamien.com for the North American schedule and more information.

The relic will continue to Hawaii for a tour of the islands, including a visit to Iolani Palace and a final stop in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu.

26th annual premier pre-season tournament. Teams include Chaminade, Arizona, Colorado, Gonzaga, Cincinnati, Maryland, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
